Environmental
impact
assessments
identify and
evaluate the
potential
impacts of a
proposed
development
project and,
where necessary,
determine
appropriate
measures to
mitigate the
effects of the
proposal.
Environmental
Management Plans
are documents
constructed to
direct the
implementation
of the measures
determined
necessary
through the EIA
process to
mitigate the
effects of the
proposal.
A
thorough EIA
should
accurately
identify
applicable
local, state
and federal
legislation
relevant to
a
development
proposal and
following
completion
of the
necessary
environmental
investigations,
present the
relevant
stakeholders
with the
identified
range of
potential
constraints,
opportunities
and risks
associated
with a
project. |

|
The
completion
of a
technically
precise,
readily
understandable
and
practical
Environmental
Management
Plan enables
projects to
proceed in a
sustainable
manner
whilst
maintaining
operational
accountability
via
monitoring
programs,
which may be
relevant to
potential
water, soil,
noise and air impacts
associated with the
particular
development.
